BIO THEMROCK

Like they stepped out of a B-film, the band Themrock plays music with influences from rock, metal, surf, punk and pop. Beef, playing his drums like a medicine man putting everyone under his spell. The bass is heavy and unyielding. The thick strings are pounded by Billy Boom. Skinny Bopper is the man on the guitar. He rams on the strings of his Les Paul like he’s cornering a tight curve on his Triumph Bonnevillewith the throttle wide open. The three band members presence is obscured as Gin Bone springs into action. Her voice is reminiscent of a waterfall, a tornado or anything related to the forces of nature. This might have something to do with the fact that she comes from Texas, a throbbing heart of American music. She's fast to laugh and has personality and an appearance that catches the audience. The band delivers a good show with a sound that is varied. Themrock plays positive music with sing-along qualities and they play songs that everyone can dance to. Themrock plays recognizable obscure covers and original songs. The music is not slow but exciting and compelling. Themrock is a great band for live music venues, clubs, festivals, parties and much more. Ready to spice up your festivities in Holland, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, France and the rest of the world. Beef, Billy, Gin and Skinny encourage you to listen to their music on CD or online at themrock.com. Then it will be clear that this quartet is not an empty promise...

REVIEW THEMROCK

“Themrock is a perfect band for a live music venue like Exit in Rotterdam. A savage act that gets close to the audience. The combination of punk (pop), rockabilly, surf and pimped up ‘Middle Of The Road’ classics rolls easily over the enthusiastic dancing fans.

There is nothing ordinary about this band. Naturally they have stage names! Gin Bone, the singer, is an original manifestation. First adorned in overalls with a straw hat, like a funny scarecrow. Later in a red velvet tunic with striped stockings. She plays the audience and 'acts' songs out like a kind of overly-energetic Pippi Longstocking that snacked on too much candy from the magic tree. This combines well with the lyrics of the band. As expected from the genre, Themrock is often (socially) critical, but also funny.

The band meshes with a high energy performance, but they are also so cool that the guitarist, Skinny Bopper, and bassist Billy Boom did not even seem to break a sweat. Only Beef the drummer got too hot at some point. But he works, and pretty darn hard at that, to propel the band.

It's hard for me to decide whether I can take Themrock seriously or if it is just a big joke. The first encore Abba's 'Gimme Gimme Gimme‘- only reinforced that feeling, the second encore ‘The ace of spades’ changed my mind.

It was surely entertaining and definetly not ‘Middle of the road‘.”
